A cultural seminar to discuss “What Happened to Egyptians?” with the trainees of the third batch of the Executive Presidential Leadership Program

Today Thursday, November 26th 2020, the National Training Academy held a cultural seminar in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Saber Arab, former Minister of Culture, with the trainees of the third batch of the Executive Presidential Leadership Program. This was held as part of the program’s activities and in light of the Academy’s keenness to develop the trainees’ cultural awareness and exchange of ideas.
The seminar was about a book review of “What Happened to Egyptians?” a book by the distinguished intellectual Dr. Jalal Amin. In his book, he analyses the changes that happened to Egyptian lifestyle and actions over the past half century. He analyses these changes by using an attractive sarcastic style.
The seminar started with an introduction about the author. Then, there was an open discussion for the trainees of the program to express their opinions regarding what they have learnt from reading this book.
In addition, trainees have asked many questions to Dr. Saber who clarified some of the issues addressed by the book. Papers on the book’s main ideas were also presented at the end of the seminar.
It is worth noting that the Executive Presidential Leadership Program aims to build highly qualified cadres, who are able to understand and use modern techniques in policy-making, manage the decision-making process, and apply a modern style of thinking in line with the latest successful international applications and models, making them able to assume various leadership positions. 190 trainees graduated in the first batch in January 2018, and another 79 trainees graduated in the second batch, whose field training started on October 3rd and lasted for a month in twenty-six governorates. The third batch began on November 8th. The current number of 65 trainees will get 9 months of theoretical training and 3 months of field training.
